Is It That Hard?

It is 2018 after all; is it really that hard to recycle?

Is it really that hard for people to recycle? We're living in a world where people buy, eat, and use so many different products each day. Whether it's cereal boxes, toothpaste boxes, or even dog food bags - almost everything that we purchase and use every single day can be recycled. However, it still feels like people aren't doing it!

With the start of the new year just around the corner, I'm hoping that people can take it upon themselves to start recycling. Because really, it's the easiest thing to do. It doesn't require anything more than throwing certain items into a separate bin.

While this might seem like another posting about saving the earth, that isn't what I'm expecting because in actuality, even if everyone recycled, the earth still wouldn't be saved. However, the goal here is for people to just wake up a little bit. Recycling isn't just beneficial to the earth, it's beneficial to manufacturers and businesses too.

Reduce, reuse, and recycle has been the motto for almost every recycling slogan everywhere, and with good reason. It makes perfect sense that we, the people who have completely taken over the earth, should be reducing our waste, reusing it in any way that we can, and recycling it in order to properly get rid of it.

The question that remains is why and how it makes sense for people to throw away things that they are done with - all for it to just go sit in a landfill? Wouldn't it be more efficient for people, the earth, and even companies to reuse items that are made of materials that allow being re-manipulated into something new? To me and to some, this makes perfect sense. So, the remaining people who refuse to recycle or "forget" to recycle, need to wake up and realize that recycling isn't harming them in any way. Rather, it's helping them, most likely the place that they work, and the earth that they live on.

While it's hard to convince everyone to act on something that they don't necessarily care about, it is still worth a shot. Recycling is not some foreign concept that people should fear or even dislike. It's a simple concept that will only be beneficial to this earth.

It is almost 2019 after all and recycling is not a new concept. It's been around for so many years, so you people who choose not to recycle, should. Ask for another bin for Christmas and throw your coke cans in there. Take the extra thirty seconds to break down the box from Amazon and recycle it. The simplest acts can help save this planet, these companies, and even you.
